Description

This festive Grinch Fudge features creamy layers of white and green peppermint-flavored fudge swirled together and topped with heart sprinkles. Perfect for holiday gatherings, this easy-to-make treat combines smooth white baking chocolate, marshmallow cream, and a hint of peppermint for a deliciously sweet Christmas treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Base

  • 1-1/2 teaspoons butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 12 squares (1 ounce each) white baking chocolate, chopped
  • 1 jar (7 ounces) marshmallow cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Color and Topping

  • 5 drops green food coloring
  • 1/4 cup heart sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan: Line an 8-inch square baking pan with foil leaving some overhang for easy removal. Grease the foil with 1-1/2 teaspoons of softened butter and set aside.
  2. Cook the sugar mixture: In a large heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, sour cream, and the remaining 1/4 cup butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the sugar dissolves. Bring to a rapid boil and continue cooking for about 5 minutes or until a candy thermometer reaches 234°F (soft-ball stage), testing by dropping a spoonful in cold water to check if it forms a soft, pliable ball.
  3. Add chocolate and flavorings: Remove from heat and immediately stir in the chopped white chocolate, marshmallow cream, and peppermint extract until melted and smooth.
  4. Divide and color fudge mixture: Pour half of the fudge into the prepared pan. Add 5 drops of green food coloring to the remaining fudge in the saucepan and stir well.
  5. Create marbled layers: Spoon the green fudge mixture over the white fudge layer in the pan. Use a knife to swirl the two colors to create a marbled effect.
  6. Add sprinkles and chill: Sprinkle the heart sprinkles over the top and refrigerate until the fudge is firm.
  7. Cut and serve: Once set, lift the fudge out using the foil overhang. Peel the foil away gently and cut the fudge into 1-inch squares. Serve immediately or store refrigerated until ready to enjoy.

Notes

  • Use a candy thermometer to ensure the fudge reaches the correct soft-ball stage for perfect texture.
  • The marbled green layer can be intensified by adding extra drops of food coloring if desired.
  • Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
  • Heart sprinkles add a festive touch but can be replaced with any holiday-themed decorations.
  • This fudge is ideal for Christmas parties, cookie trays, or holiday movie nights.
